At Living Hope, Leadership starts with Jesus.

It’s His church, and He’s our senior pastor. Underneath the guidance of Jesus are leaders who are simply qualified Christians who follow Jesus and encourage others to follow Him as well. At Living Hope, our formal leadership structure involves pastors, council, and church members.

PASTORS

Jesus calls qualified people to lead His church as elders, whom we also call pastors. Qualifications for eldership are found in 1 Timothy 3 and Titus 1, and include leading their families well, a record of serving Jesus well both in the church and in everyday life, a thorough knowledge of the Bible and a mature Christian walk, and a good reputation both in and out of the church. The primary duties of elders include praying and studying Scripture, leading the vision of the church, caring for the people of the church, teaching, living lives that are exemplary, protecting the people of the church from false doctrine and teachers, and developing other leaders.

Here at Living Hope, we are blessed to have co-pastors Bobby Murrieta and Jen Fahey, as well as Assisting Minister Gerry Fahey.

Pastor Bobby Murrieta

Pastor Bobby Murrieta has been serving in Pastoral ministry for over 36 years.  He and his wife Vicki have planted and pastored churches in California, Colorado, and New England--Scituate/Marshfield, Cape Cod, Worcester, and in Brockton Foursquare (Church on the Rock) and Onset Foursquare.  Bobby was born and raised in Southern California and is a graduate of LIFE Pacific College and Gordon Conwell Theological Seminary with his Masters in Urban Ministerial Leadership.  Bobby and Vicki have been married for over 36 years and have four grown children and 2 grandkids.

Pastors Jen and Gerry Fahey

The Faheys became licensed pastors in 2015 before moving to Albania as Foursquare missionaries. In 2017 they returned from the mission field and were happy to return to their home church and join the pastoral staff. They have decades of combined ministry experience including leadership of prayer and media teams, youth ministry, home groups, preaching, and of course missions.

Love. Reach. Change.

You will see these three words on our walls, on our publications, and on our hearts. Here is a brief description of why these three words represent us as a community of faith…

Love - The scriptures say that our God is a God of love. Jesus says that the most important thing is love for God and love for others. This simple but profound truth shapes everything we do at Living Hope. "Does this activity help us to love God more? Does this activity help us to love others more?" These are the questions we ask when making decisions about ministries, budgets, staffing, etc.

Reach - We believe the scriptures reveal a God who is on a mission to redeem all of creation; including mankind, social systems, and the environment. As a local expression of His people, we are called by God to reach both the South Shore of MA, as well as the rest of the world, with the amazing news of Christ Jesus. Much of what we talk about as well as practice, centers around reaching others who have not yet come into relationship with our God. This is not just something we do "as a church" but rather are assigned to do as followers of Jesus. We look to reach those in our families, our neighbors, our co-workers, etc with the love of Jesus each and every day.

Change - As followers of Jesus, it is our goal to become more like Him everyday. This requires change: Change in our worldview, change in our practices, and change in our hearts. Much of what we "do" as a community of faith is focused on "becoming". As we become the people God has made us to be, then we will grow in our love for Him and our ability to be used by Him to reach those around us!

    Our name

The name "Living Hope" comes out of the Scriptures in 1 Peter 1:3-4. It reads, "Blessed be the name of and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! According to his great mercy, he has caused us to be born again to a Living Hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, to an inheritance that is imperishable, undefiled, and unfading, kept in heaven for you!" The great news of our God is that there is Hope for us, in every situation, in every circumstance, in every season. This hope is found in the person of Jesus. Therefore we come together weekly to worship Him, to become more like Him, and share Him.

      Our Beliefs

      The Nicene Creed

I believe in one God, the Father Almighty, Maker of heaven and earth, and of all things visible and invisible. And in one Lord Jesus Christ, the only-begotten Son of God, begotten of the Father before all worlds; God of God, Light of Light, very God of very God; begotten, not made, being of one substance with the Father, by whom all things were made.

Who, for us men for our salvation, came down from heaven, and was incarnate by the Holy Spirit of the virgin Mary, and was made man; and was crucified also for us under Pontius Pilate; He suffered and was buried; and the third day He rose again, according to the Scriptures; and ascended into heaven, and sits on the right hand of the Father; and He shall come again, with glory, to judge the quick and the dead; whose kingdom shall have no end. And I believe in the Holy Ghost, the Lord and Giver of Life; who proceeds from the Father [and the Son]; who with the Father and the Son together is worshipped and glorified; who spoke by the prophets. And I believe one holy catholic and apostolic Church. I acknowledge one baptism for the remission of sins; and I look for the resurrection of the dead, and the life of the world to come. Amen
